As part of our 2001 Seattle vacation, we cruised to Tillicum Village on Blake Island for some Alder smoked salmon and a little education in the ways of the Northwest Native Tribes.

Here are pictures of my siblings and I from the summer of 1999.

The boys hiked up a hill to visit the grave of the great-grandfather they never knew.  West Virginia, 1980.  Lester Hart, father of Harry Nord Hart, grandfather of Harry Lester Hart, died in 1932 in an accident at a mine site.  He had refused to cut a vein in the mine that he considered dangerous.  For two nights, he would not go in, fearing collapse of the mine shaft.  Finally he relented and a large boulder came loose from the ceiling of the mine, killing him.  He was 39 the day he died.
